Frank E. Baxter

Frank Baxter is Chairman Emeritus of Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc., a full-service investment bank and institutional securities firm, with 1,400 employees worldwide. New York -based Jefferies has a market capitalization of more than $1 billion.

Mr. Baxter joined Jefferies & Company-www.jefco.com-in 1974 as a salesman in its Los Angeles office. Since then he has held the positions of Manager of the New York and London offices, President, Chief Operating Officer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

He is a Director of the Investment Technology Group, Inc. and NASDAQ Stock Market, Inc.

Mr. Baxter is a former member of the Secretary of Labor’s Committee on the Future of the Workforce and a former Director of the Securities Industries Association and the National Association of Securities Dealers.

He began his career in San Francisco with positions at the Bank of California and J.S. Strauss & Company.

Mr. Baxter is a native of Northern California and earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley. An Air Force veteran, Baxter and his wife Kathrine have three children and three grandchildren.
